The Farmerville High School Alumni Association is about to host its first ever Poker Run motorcycle ride to pay for alterations that need to be made on the school’s auditorium.
President of the alumni association, Toni Donovan, says the funds are being raised to pay for the costs incurred by mechanising the stage curtains that will come to about $10,000.00
Riders start in the high school parking lot where they will draw the first card in a poker hand. Riders then go on to McKinney Honda in Ruston where they draw their 2nd card, then to Booker’s Gas Station in Marion to collect their 3rd card. The 4th card will be collected from the Fifties Diner in Farmerville and then back to the high school for their final card. The rider with the best hand will win a cash prize.
The best time does not mean winning with this ‘Run’. At the end of the day the winner will be the participant with the best hand. The run is not a race and the intention is for everyone to have fun and take the time to enjoy themselves.
