Could Keno Be A Saving Grace?

Keno is being considered as the game of choice to raise state revenue by more than $2.5 million annually as well as provide further assistance for all non-profits.
Keno is a highly recognised casino game that has also made an impressionable mark on the online gambling world, where players choose to play from the comfort and safety of home than venturing to a land-based casino.
It is also now the game that lawmakers in Maine are considering to bring in much needed revenue for the state, to the tune of more than $2.5 million annually.
Efforts by members of such Maine groups like the Legislature’s Legal and Veterans Affairs Committee, which include Rep. Stacey Fitts, a Pittsfield Republican have been in search of new manners in which to increase satisfaction of veteran group and non-profit demands. The reason for this could be due to the decrease in revenue felt because of the stepping up of the Maine State Police, with regard to the enforcing of games of chance laws within the state in recent years.
Within the different versions of gaming considered in Maine, to opposing ends of the scale is black and white gaming; to play or not to play so to speak.
White gaming is that which actually pays players out in casino credits, which in turn creates extended game hours. There are also “gray” games which are considered to be the ones that pay out a large some every so often. Moving on to the black games; this refers to those that provide cash payouts which non-profits consider illegal.
The aim is to extinguish to gray area and assist those non-profits and veterans with increased revenue through gaming… and this is where the game of keno could play a big role.
Not only is it a rather social game to play but also offers a fun factor, and is not exceptionally difficult to get the hang of. With an entertainment value and increased jackpot payouts, the dividends keno would show are clearly evident.
If other state revenue is anything to go by, Maine could potentially gain as much as $2.3 million is revenue if the recent stats are to be believed.
The eventually aim is to have not just keno but other games being played at non-profits and thus, bringing in even more revenue possibilities.
The proposal on this new keno gaming venture is still under debate and a decision has not yet been reached.

Keno is very much like playing the lottery… boring…
Just another way for the government to get a piece of the pie… greedy bastards
@Matt: LOL
Keno funded the Great Wall of China, so can’t all be bad, right?
